Alva L. Beach has been carrying the Gospel to the incarcerated since 1993. Just recently the William S. Keys Correctional Center has awarded Brother Beach with “The Solid Rock Award” for consistency and commitment in reaching the RID unit inmates for Christ. As well as Bible and guitar, he has hauled a horse tank to the facility many times for a baptismal service until they got a Chapel and a place to baptize. Up to date he has baptized 876 men in the name of Jesus. He passes around a prayer book for the men to write their prayer requests in and brings the book to church for the congregation to pray over. Alva always reads each request and feels the hurts of the men and knows the urgent needs.   Brother Beach says sometimes he can't wait to get there with a lesson, then at other times he goes feeling not really adequate, but says God is always ready and faithful and will give him just the right subject and anointing to share during the 15 mile trip over. He says the boys especially like the music part of his ministry and are always full of requests and participate joyfully. Alva prays with them and tries to encourage them each to seek God's will for their life and to have faith in God.
